Growing Conditions:
Slender wheatgrass grows in varied soils and habitats, in open or moderately open areas, and sometimes in forests, from the boreal region of Canada east to Greenland and south into Mexico, from sea level to 10,000 feet. In the Southwest, it is found in shaded canyons, forested slopes and meadows, from foothills to alpine elevations. It is tolerant of alkaline and saline soils.
