Growing Conditions: ‘Angelina’ thrives in well-drained sandy to gravelly soils of moderate to low fertility. It can be planted in full sun or light shade. It tends to be more colorful (lime green in spring and summer, and orange-red in autumn) in full sun, but appreciates partial shade in summer in very hot climates. It should be watered regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system, but needs only occasional water once established. Regular watering is needed if it is planted in hanging baskets or other containers. This plant readily breaks off and roots itself, and plants will naturalize over time. Space plants 2-3 feet apart for a groundcover, or closer (8-12” apart) for rapid coverage. ‘Angelina’ is an excellent groundcover for beds with spring bulbs. The plant is evergreen in mild climates, but foliage turns orange in winter in northern climates.
